Aged Services

Located at the Wagin Town Hall.

The Wagin Home Care program is funded by the Australian Government and is administered by the Shire of Wagin. Home Care covers the Shires of Wagin and West Arthur.

Our target groups for home support services are the frail aged and their carers. The aim of the program is to help consumers and carers to remain living independently in their own homes and the community.

The services provided are:

House Keeping / Domestic Assistance and Laundry
Gardening
Wood chopping
Meals / Other Food Services
Local Transport
Personal Care
Respite
Social Support (Group)
Social Support - In home, assisting with paperwork, taking client shopping, banking or to attend appointments
Meals on Wheels - Prepared and delivered to clients home for mid day meal

Fees: Fees will be assessed according to income level.
Services are available regardless of cultural background, marital status or financial circumstances.

How To Access Services

Older people who require support have a new entry point for access to aged care services. This entry point is My Aged Care.

My Aged Care is designed to give you more choice, control and easier access to a full range of aged services. It includes a website www.myagedcare.gov.au (external site) and the My Aged Care contact centre (1800 200422).

WA Care services for younger people will continue to be funded and managed by the WA Department of Health, with most services and clients transferring to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) as it rolls out in WA between 1 July and 30 June 2020.
