Media Release: Shire of Wagin thanks Pool Manager for service following resignation

Published on Thursday, 23 January 2025 at 10:33:15 AM

The Shire of Wagin thanks pool manager Rachel Bairstow for her service following her resignation this week.

Ms Bairstow had served as pool manager since 2022.

“In the past two seasons Ms Bairstow has ensured that the Wagin Memorial Pool has been open for all the community to enjoy. I thank Rachel for her tireless work and wish her the best in her next endeavours. She will be missed.” Chief Executive Officer, Dr Kenneth Parker said.

Following Ms Bairstow’s resignation the Shire is working to reopen the pool as soon as possible.

“Arrangements are being made to reopen the pool from 11:00am on Friday, 24 January 2025. Over the next few weeks it is likely that a combination of relief managers will be used. This may result in times where the pool is not open as it normally would but our goal is to have this popular facility open for the community to enjoy.”

“During the time we will be updating the public on opening hours on Social Media.”

The Wagin Memorial Pool is a Group 1 Aquatic Facility. Under the Department of Health Code of Practice, to open to the public the pool must be manned as all times by a Technical Operator with prescribed and current qualifications in technical operations, patron supervision and emergency care which are set out in the Code.
